Membership promotes a wider and deeper public understanding of the value of air transport, and provides access to expert insight from the airport industry to 300+ World Trade Centers located around the world
The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) — an international trade organization connecting more than 300 World Trade Center businesses in nearly 100 countries — is pleased to announce its membership as a World Business Partner (WBP) of the Airports Council International (ACI) EUROPE. ACI WBP membership is open to companies doing business with, for and at airports, or in an airport-related industry. The WTCA counts several state-of-the-art airports as World Trade Center businesses within its global network, and is focused on promoting a wider and deeper public understanding of the value of air transport in global trade.
“On behalf of the WTCA, we are proud to be a member within ACI EUROPE’s network of aviation and logistical professionals, and to bring the most comprehensive industry insights — leveraging data from airports worldwide — to our WTCA members,” stated Robin van Puyenbroeck, Executive Director-Business Development of the WTCA. “We look forward to being an active participant in the Commercial and Real Estate forums working together on the smart airports, cities & regions concept,” Mr. van Puyenbroeck added.
ACI EUROPE represents more than 500 airports in 55 countries, and its members facilitate more than 90% of commercial air traffic in Europe. Its stated vision and mission is to advance the collective interests of Europe's airports and promote professional excellence in airport management and operations.Â
Through its WBP program, ACI EUROPE will provide the WTCA with enhanced global connectivity in the airport industry, and access to best practices and industry research publications such as the Monthly International Passenger and Freight Report and the annual ACI World Airport Traffic Report, which is published each July and features industry-driven statistics and analyses to determine aviation trends and forecasts. Additionally, the WTCA will have access to resources made available by ACI World including key decision makers at airports, priority access to staff expertise, and support for lobbying efforts with governments and/or regulators. The WTCA can also submit relevant airport industry news — on behalf of its WTCA Members — to share with ACI’s membership and subscribers. Lastly, the WTCA can submit content to the ACI Insights Blog to cast light and draw attention to the different aspects of the airport industry including airport operations, policy and regulation; and submit its company press releases to their members-only platform.
Membership with ACI EUROPE also provides opportunities for the WTCA to network and collaborate with other ACI EUROPE members via four European fora (i.e., Regional Airports Forum ; Commercial Forum ; Communications Forum ; and Leadership & Human Resources Forum ) and other in-person events such as:
- ACI Annual Airport Economics & Finance Conference & Exhibition
- ACI EUROPE Airport Commercial & Retail Conference & Exhibition
- ACI EUROPE Regional Airports Conference & Exhibition
- ACI EUROPE Annual Congress, General Assembly & Exhibition
- ACI Airport Exchange Conference & Exhibition
“As the COVID-19 pandemic has caused global supply chain issues, we understand now more than ever the importance of the aviation industry in moving people and goods around the world. At the WTCA, we are focused on expanding and diversifying our network of strategic partners and engagements in this key industry to better support our WTCA members," continued Mr. van Puyenbroeck. “We look forward to welcoming more airports as World Trade Center businesses within our global network.”
