Results 2023 WTCA Board of Directors Election

Dear WTCA Members:

On behalf of the WTCA Board of Directors, I want to thank every WTCA Member who voted in this year’s Board election.  A record-tying 67% of our eligible Regular Members took the time to participate in this important event, which was held entirely on line for the second time.

As you know, we had 18 exceptional candidates running for the 12 open seats on our Board.  These individuals deserve our appreciation for the time and energy they have devoted to our Association over the years.  We are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of people who are willing to volunteer their services to be an active part of our Association.

I am pleased to announce (in alphabetical order by region) the winning candidates in this year’s Board of Directors election:

Asia-Pacific Region: Mr. Irmohizam bin Ibrahim (WTC Kuala Lumpur), Mr. Vijay Kalantri (WTC Mumbai), Ms. Catherine Lee (WTC Suzhou), Ms. Christina Shen (WTC Shenyang), Mr. Vineet Verma (WTC Bengaluru)

Europe Region: Mr. Freerk Faber (WTC Twente)

Latin America Region: Mr. Luciano Menezes (WTC Curitiba) and Mr. Remy Swaab (WTC Panama)

Middle East-Africa Region: Mr. Togbe Afede XIV (WTC Accra) and Mr. Ahmed Tibaoui (WTC Algiers)

North America Region: Mr. Ivan Barrios (WTC Miami) and Mr. John Drew (WTC Washington, D.C.)

These newly elected or re-elected individuals will join our current active Directors --- Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl (WTC Amman), Mr. Edward Allison-Wright (WTC Gibraltar), Mr. Scott Center (WTC Savannah), Mr. Ignacio Del (WTC Montevideo), Mr. Rolf Draak (WTC Nice), Mr. Mehran Eftekhar (WTC Cyprus), Ms. Karen Gerwitz (WTC Denver), Mr. Eugenio Reyes Guzman (WTC Monterrey), Mr. Haluk Kanca (WTC Istanbul), Ms. Pamela Pascual (WTC Metro Manila), Ms. Cristina Sbaizero (WTC Trieste), Mr. Simon Wang (WTC Taipei), and the Board’s non-voting Managing Director Ms. Mariette Mulaire.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Khair Ull-Nissa Sheikh who will be leaving our Board.  We have all benefited from her volunteer service on the Board, our Executive Committee, the Asia-Pacific RAC, and the WTCA Foundation.

In closing, I want to again express our appreciation to everyone who took the time to run as a candidate and vote as a Member in this year’s election.  We look forward to working on your behalf over the coming years.
