World Trade Center Moscow regrets to inform about the decease of Evgeni M. Primakov.
Our country has suffered an irreplaceable loss. A prominent statesman, one of the most esteemed world-level politicians, a person of true integrity, a scholar and a practitioner with a great record of service in the interests of the prosperity of Russia and strength of its position on the international arena has passed away.
A true patriot, a man of tremendous life experience, a wise and sophisticated professional, Mr. Primakov belonged to the cohort of those unique personalities, who underpin the nation building and irrespective of their position set the pattern for current and future politicians.
His experience in state governance and international affairs was truly priceless, especially nowadays when the country is undergoing some difficult time. A recognized Orientalist, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), a leading scientist in the sphere of global economy and foreign relations, a specialist in international conflicts and crises, he used to hold various major positions in government hierarchy – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head of External Intelligence Service and finally – the Prime-Minister during the crisis period. He was elected to the State Duma (the lower chamber of Russian Parliament), was closely engaged in resolving important issues for the business community as the Head of Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, dealt with various scholar community issues as a RAS Presidium member, and headed Mercury Club at WTC Moscow for 10 years. He left behind a wonderful heritage of books and publications. His voice was heard clearly, and people often referred to his opinion.
The WTC team is mourning with the entire country.
